John Bennett is the Vice President of Understanding the Threat.
From 2011-2019, John served in the Oklahoma House of representatives as a State Representative for State House District #2, where he was instrumental in authoring and co-authoring Oklahoma’s 10 Commandments Bill, numerous Pro-Life, Pro-Veteran, and other socially and fiscally conservative legislation including bills.
John was raised on a farm in Oklahoma. After graduating High School he joined the U.S. Marine Corps.
John Bennett has extensive training in Counter Intelligence/Human Intelligence and Counter-Terrorism Operations and served on Human Intelligence and Exploitation Teams during combat operations in Iraq, Afghanistan and other foreign countries. He received training from the Navy and Marine Corps Intelligence Training Center in Damneck VA, the REID Institute, Memorial Institute for the Prevention of Terrorism, Defense Threat Reduction Agency; Anti-Terrorism & Homeland Defense, Special Operations Training Group, The Terrorism Research Center, High Risk Personnel, the Defense Intelligence Agency, Strategical Debriefing Course, extensive tactical and vehicle training with Blackwater, SERE (Survival Evasion Resistance & Escape) training, and is Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection Level III certified.
John is a certified Black Belt Instructor, a certified Firearms Instructor with the Special Operations Training Group, a certified interrogator, and served as a Non-Commissioned Officer Academy Instructor.
John retired from the Marine Corps in 2015.
John Bennett continued his service after his military career with the Sheriff’s Department, Drug Task Force, and the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force. John is also a certified firearms instructor with the Oklahoma Council on Law Enforcement Education & Training (CLEET), and a certified Rifle, Pistol and Shotgun firearms instructor with the NRA.
John holds a degree in Communications, and is a Licensed Pastor with the Assemblies of God.
